Passenger Resistance
After calling authorities and friends & family on the ground and hearing of the attacks on New York City and Washington DC, they realized the hijacking of their plane was part of a larger terrorist plot. They then briefly discussed how to react to the hijacking, and soon took a vote. The vote decided that they would resist the hijacking of the airplane, and try to flight back.
The passengers began going to the back of the plane one by one, to plan the rebellion. They used hot boiled water, fire extinguishers, knives, and the food trolley used to serve passengers (which weighs about 200 pounds). They then decided it was time.
All at once at 9:57AM, the passengers began counter-attacking the terrorists. Instantly killing one with the food trolley. The other hijacker yelled at the hijackers in the cockpit that the passengers were rebelling. The hijacker piloting the plane then began pitching the plane up and down in a repetitive fashion, to throw the rebels off balance. He stopped this at 10AM. Then, the passengers began breaching access to the cockpit. Although the last moments of Flight 93 will forever remain a mystery, authorities have heard "Bring it down!" being screamed in Arabic by one of the terrorists at the last few moments of UA93.

Phone Dialogue with Outsiders
After being hijacked, fearful passengers telephoned family and friends to tell them of the hijacking, and soon learned of the terror attacks that occurred in New York and DC. They made these calls using Airfones and personal cellular telephones.

Sandy Branshaw
Sandy Branshaw was a United Airlines flight attendant that was working on UA93. When the passengers were planning an attempt to take over the aircraft she telephoned her husband Phil Branshaw, who was looking after their 2 young infants. When he answered the phone she listed this dialogue [see below]. Then as he was listing her flight number and trying to think of ways to revolt, she broke the news of the attacks on the World Trade Center. Soon after, her call with him ended, being the last call she made on that fateful day.

"My airplane has been hijacked by three guys with knives and we are in the back getting together some hot water to throw on them. Have you got any ideas?"

Todd Beamer
Todd Beamer was a passenger on United Airlines Flight 93. Via Airfone, he telephoned Lisa Jefferson, a GTE operator, when the plane was over Pittsburgh. He had a "calm tone" and was informing other passengers of how to rebel. He showcased his knowledge of the NYC attacks on the phone, and, obviously, made the assumption that their plane was hijacked and was going to be crashed into the Capitol building, used as a missile to create tremendous loss of life. He served as a leader to the group of passenger planning the revolt, and the operator and him had "hope" that they could land the plane safely, after regaining control of the airplane.

"Are you ready? Okay, lets roll"
